maine's homeless rates.!
homeless rates.
new beginnings homeless shelter.! this is a place that has truely helped alot of teens get back on track when they had bad homes and had no other place to go. most of the teens that come here are put here because of drug addiction and defiance so this is a good place for teens to go and this program is a month long or until you find a home.
Florence House gives 65 women nothing less than a second chance at life. Destitute and on the streets of Portland, sleeping in bus stations, cardboard boxes, or the park, these ladies had found their way to Preble Street Resource Center. There they found sympathy and food. They were given mattresses on the floor, six inches apart, to sleep on along with men.
....* Homelessness has increased in the city by 100 percent since 1993, with women representing the fastest growing group. To address that growing trend, Preble Street opened Logan Place, a 30-unit apartment building, in 2005, with the help of Avesta Housing. Since then, the City of Portland has reported the percentage of chronically homeless people down 18 percent. Like Logan Place, Avesta owns Florence House and manages the property, while Preble Street provides 24-hour staffing and services for the women who live there...*
24,000 Babies under age 5 Die each day from being homeless.
the average homeless person walks 6 miles a day.!

video games in school
Students "learn how to solve problems, how to communicate, how to use data, how to begin to predict things that might be coming down the line,"
"Suddenly you begin to get what's called emergent behavior, and in emergent behavior, that system, the elements in it, begin to relate to one another in ways that can be unpredictable,"
"What systems thinking does is it gives you a tool to manage complexity," she says. "Because of the complexity of problems, if you're not able to look at them as a system, you're just going to look at a blur. You will just be overwhelmed by the complexity."
there are pros and cons of this topic and i dont lean more to either side.
but i do think that the video games should be monitored.

CLONING- READ ALL ABOUT IT.
so basicly is cloning a good thing or a bad thing.
people might concider cloning a bad thing if you are religious or such
but people like the thought if someone had lost a child and wanted an exact replica of that child from birth. people may concider cloning if you had lost an arm or a few body parts and you could regrow your body parts on another being and attach it to yourself.
so my question is this just desterbing or is it something that is a good thing..
my state ment is its weired and i think that its a good step for science but wont it get crazy and taken over board.?

smoking in public
so basicly some places the government is trying to make it so that you cant smoke outside in public at all and definately not in the buildings and the only way you could smoke is at home..
my question for you is do you think that people should be able to smoke in public concidering they were the ones who sold it to people and got them adicted to it in the first place.

DOGS not being aloud to speek!
so basicly owners are tired of their dog barking and barking when someone walks by or when the dog wants something so they have decided to take the dog to the vet and take their vocal cords out so that they cant have a voice. so my question is should that be legal because what if humans had to get their vocal cords taken out when they couldnt shut their trap? shouldnt animals have the right to speak just like humans have the freedom of speech lol just cause we dont understand them doesnt mean we should take away their voice and im sure they get annoyed with us too!
